S.P. Jain Institute is regarded as one of the premier management institutes of the country and is part of a larger campus that of Bhavan’s in Andheri, Mumbai.
Owing to the demands of an expanding campus, this new management institute was conceived as an annex to the existing facility designed by Architects Combine.
A series of lecture halls and classrooms were organized along a radial geometry, creating a new threshold between the existing and new structures.
A number of existing trees dotting a central courtyard, provide shelter, resulting in effective pause points- offering areas for interaction in a campus, which otherwise lacks a cohesive landscape strategy.
Almost all proposed structures share a common plinth with the court, along with circulation elements such as corridor’s and staircases carefully articulated along its periphery, resulting in an intimate public space within the larger campus.
Almost a decade after the completion of Phase 1, the office has been commissioned yet again to build an extension, housing classrooms, a Library, an Auditorium as well as a Bistro.
